Sunday morning tradition: the toasted custard!!! I topped mine with cranberries which is my favorite! What is your Sunday morning tradition?
Here’s my Toasted Custard recipe…
It’s so easy!!!
8 eggs ????????
2 cups milk ? ?
2 cups flour ? ?
Pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven 400, put one stick of butter (1/2 cup) in the bottom of a glass 9×13 baking pan. Once the butter is melted, add the blended ingredients. All ingredients just put in a blender until smooth, pour into melted butter. Take out when it looks like the above photo, poofing over the top and golden brown.
Serve with Maple syrup, strawberries, or cream. A delightful hearty meal for breakfast or brunch.

We call these German pancakes. They’re delicious! Our recipe calls for 6 eggs, 1 cup flour and 1 cup milk. I like to sprinkle mine with cinnamon and sugar before eating. Thank you for sharing!
My first attempt turned out a bit rubbery. I believe I blended too long, even though it didn’t seem that long. I think I’ll use less than 2 cups flour next time. It wasn’t souffle looking like in the picture, it was more cake looking, with a sea monster growing out of the center. Aside from the texture, the taste was great. I’ll try again with a smaller batch till I get it perfected.
