Introducing Megan

Hey! My name is Megan Barrett, second born daughter to Erin.

My mom asked molly and I to write for her blog, and I think it’s going to be so fun!

My mom is a huge inspiration to me! I hope I can impart even just a fraction of the wisdom that she imparts to all of you.

A little about me…

I am 20 years old. I got married to my husband Noble Barrett in October 2020 when we were both 18. We had been dating since we were 15, and we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

Six months later, we found out we were expecting a baby! Isla Rose was born on November 25th 2021. She has brought so much joy into our lives.

Here we are now, one little happy family!

What I will be sharing:

I am very passionate about Health, beauty, fashion, and homemaking!

Recently I’ve been doing a lot of sewing projects, and it’s been so fun! I love being creative, and for the first time since I’ve become a mom I am actually taking action with my hobbies!

Life does get busy when you have a little one to look after, but I think it’s very important to still make time for the things you love doing. I really look forward to sharing tips, and tricks and, everything I am learning along the way.

Here is a dress I sewed recently.

I have been making reels on Instagram of my sewing projects! Here’s the most recent one:

  1. Hi Erin.
I have been reading your blog and have your books and dvds. They are all a blessing to me, thankyou.:-)
I wanted to ask you about modesty standards. I don’t want to be offensive, but in many photos your daughters are wearing clothing that I do not think is modest as they accentuate the womanly figure and show a lot of bare skin which is unnecessary unless one is trying to advertise their body.
I was introduced to you, aboverubies and no greater joy at 21 yeas old and all these ministries have helped shape my life for the better.
I must say though, when I see this next generation (and their mothers) lowering the modesty standards, I am grieved and am afraid to share these resources with my own daughters as they become teenagers in case it stumbles them.
I am greatly stumbled by it, because my old flesh loves to look ‘hot’ and fashionable.
I’m trying to get my head around why it’s okay for christian women to dress like this in front of other men.
I resonate a lot with your amish-mennonitis phase and am really struggling going against my convictions just to fit in at church, which is becoming more and more worldly.
    I know you will understand.
Can you help me with seeing that the bible allows for fashionable clothes, dressing to attract, and showing more skin than nessercary?
I don’t want to come off as a judgemental pharisee, but my main concern is stumbling others in the body of Christ, like men and other women who are trying to kill their flesh and walk in the spirit over clothing.
    Thank you for your time

    In Christ’s love,
    Imogen
