Our Aquarium Adventure

The kids and I have been on some pretty amazing adventures this past week.  Since my mom was coming into town we decided to take her down to Georgia and stay with some friends.  We are just country folk, so seeing a big city is BIG TIME for the kids.  Busy highways and tall buildings grace the landscape.
The first thing we saw was the dolphin tank.  We were gripped!  Watching these playful creatures was mesmerizing.

The highlight of the whole aquarium was the dolphin show!  They had trainers teaching the dolphins how to do all kinds of tricks and jumps.  I cried 5 times during the performance.  I do not cry easily.  The joy and wonder that fluttered in my heart was overwhelming!  It was so emotional for me to see God’s creation in this way, the power he created these creatures with—how they can swim so fast and propel out of the water with such majestic beauty was incredible to me.  It was truly something to behold.  It was the glory of God in creation, if for just a moment in time.

I can’t describe it, but it was if time stood still and I was in a dream.  Guess this lady has been in the country so long, I forgot all the wondrous things that God created besides cows, chickens, horses, pigs, and plants!!!  It was good for me to venture out of my small world to see something unique again.  It give perspective!

I loved seeing how the dolphins related to their trainers and what a relationship they are able to have with humans.  They are so gentle and playful at the same time.  It was really neat to see that.

On our little homestead we get close to our animals, too!  We pet the cow when she is milked and there is a connection between man and beast.  It is a give and take relationship. We give our cow feed and attention, and in return she gives us her milk!

Back to the aquarium…
There were all kinds of fish from all around the earth that the kids could see and study.  They had all kinds of information there to teach the kids about each species of fish.

From Beluga Whales and piranhas to mammoth sized Whale Sharks and tiny jelly fish, we enjoyed seeing each one of God’s special creations.
This will be an adventure we will always remember and I am so glad I was able to take my big kids to see something different.  It is so important to make memories with your family, have adventures, explore new areas, and learn more about God’s marvelous creation.

“Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.”
Job 37:14
