Homestead Giveaway

Congratulations to Heather and Cresta who were the randomly picked winners.  We hope you all enjoyed the giveaway!Just recently Mark and I felt it was time to sell our Homestead Drying Rack and Homestead Store Business.  With growing boys and new adventures ahead, my husband was no longer able to fill the demand of a growing business.  He is now teaching our 3 boys the trade of home construction and remodeling.

When we announced the sale of our business we were met with a flood of inquiries and many hopeful prospects.  One family was especially keen on the business.  7 days from the initial announcement of sale, this family decided to fly out to take a look at the business.

They were from Oregon.  We did not know who they were but we wanted to make their stay nice so we had planned to put them up in a little guest cottage situated on the farm we rent.  The minute I opened my front door to them was the minute our hearts connected.  It was like we were cut from the same fabric.  It is almost never that you can find a family that lives such parallel lives from such a grand distance on earth.  The more stories we shared, the more we knew we would be not only have the perfect family to carry on our business we so lovingly shaped, to having life long friends.

Several weeks following our amazing visit, we were on a plane to Oregon to spend several days on their homestead.  I felt the love and peace of God surrounding each step of the way.  Mark was showing the other ‘Mark’ how to dial in the tools to make the drying racks with great attention to each detail as he has always endeavored to put forth.

The time we spent with their family is a treasure to us.  They are hard working, honest, lovely people who are more than what we prayed for in carrying on the Homesteading business.  I helped Kristy learn the website and it is exciting to us how they just ran with it.  They are carrying a huge amount of homesteading supplies.  Just about everything you could possibly need from beginning homesteader to the journeyman!  I am so proud of them and the level of quality they are putting out.

I want to introduce….The Gunderson Family.  The proud new owners of Homestead Drying Racks and the Homestead Store.  In celebration for their grand opening, we would like to offer a great Giveaway!  Keep reading… I JUST have to give them the opportunity to introduce themselves, you are going to love them!!! Here is a little piece I pulled from their new blog

Hello there!
We are the proud owners of Homestead Drying Racks and
The Homestead Store.
We are a family of 7 who have been homesteading for the past 20 + years.
We share daily life on our farm with cows, chickens, goats, honeybees and plenty of other critters
from season to season!

Picture

We live in the beautiful state of Oregon.
Seriously.
It’s that beautiful.
This view is 15 minutes from our farm.

Picture

We have 5 kiddos.
(some homegrown, and some grown into our hearts by adoption)
They all think its pretty awesome to be called “farm kids” and wear it proudly!

Picture

We also grow produce and different kinds of berries.
Yup.
We are busy – but extremely Blessed.

So we were very excited when God dropped this opportunity right
into our lap to become the new owners of:

It’s quite an amazing story that I’ll share in a different post.
Did I mentioned we’re Blessed?
Oh good.
I just did.
*~*~*
Here’s the main Man behind it all.
This guy works harder than anyone I know.
He has vision for his family.
(and his wife thinks he’s pretty darn cute!)
Uh….that would be me!

All the kids work on this Homestead.
We couldn’t do what we do without them – they really are amazing!

So there ya have it.
A little bit about us – I’m looking forward to blogging more about our lives, our products, family, farming, homeschooling…..
and everything in between!
